Hydroponic Program

The Hydroponic Program was made official on October 16, 2018 by Administrative Order of the Secretary of the DEDC. A call period was established from October 16, 2018 to January 31, 2019 and a total of 156 applications were received. On May 21, 2019, the projects selected for the Program were announced, totaling 150. $16 million were awarded for the rehabilitation and expansion of production facilities. Multiple training workshops were also completed, such as FSMA Regulation on the Safety of Agricultural Products (100 certified people), Agricultural Finance (131 trained hydroponists) and Agriculture in Hydroponic Systems (133 trained hydroponists). The money comes from the Special Fund for Economic Development (Law 73-2008), which includes hydroponics as an eligible activity under Law 73-2008.
